What Can You Make With the Rounding Worksheet Generator?
Printable worksheets of twelve numbers to round, each on its own number line: to the nearest ten, with two-digit or three-digit numbers, to the nearest hundred, or to the nearest thousand. Every worksheet also has its answer key, with the closer end circled.
Why Learn to Round Numbers?
Rounding replaces a number with a simpler one close to it, like 40 for 38. To round to the nearest ten, you find the two tens around the number, 30 and 40 for 38, and keep the closer one. On these worksheets, each number sits on a number line between those two tens, hundreds or thousands, and the long tick in the middle marks the halfway point: a number past it rounds up, a number before it rounds down, and a number right on it, like 35, rounds up. Rounding helps to estimate, to check an answer and to do mental math.
