Number Line Worksheet Generator

Printable worksheets of eight number lines of eleven numbers, each with four numbers missing, counting by 1s up to 20 or up to 100, or by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s or 10s. Every worksheet also has its answer key, with the missing numbers.

A number line shows numbers in order, evenly spaced from left to right: each step to the right adds the same amount. You read the numbers already written to find that step, then count on or back to fill in the missing ones. Counting by 1s builds number order up to 20, then up to 100. Counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s is skip counting, the first step toward the times tables. Number lines also prepare for adding and subtracting, as jumps forward and backward along the line.

1. Choose the settings. Pick how to count: by 1s up to 20 or up to 100, or by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s or 10s.
2. Make a new worksheet. Press New: a new worksheet appears at once, with the same settings. Each one comes from a random number, its seed, kept in the address of the page.
3. Print it. Press Print to print the page on A4 paper, or choose “Save as PDF” in the print window to keep it.
4. Get the answer key. Tick Show the solution: the same worksheet appears with its solution in orange, ready to print as the answer key.
5. Share it. Copy the address of the page: it always gives the same worksheet back.
