Frequently Asked Questions
What Can You Make With the Paper Generator?
Seven kinds of printable paper, each a full A4 page:
- Lined, dotted and dashed paper, in eight line patterns: 46, 23, 16 or 12 lines, 15 or 12 pairs of lines, or 11 or 9 groups of three lines.
- Handwriting paper, with large, medium or small letters.
- Grid paper, with small or large squares.
- Isometric dot paper, with small or large triangles.
- Music staff paper, with nine staves.
What Is Each Paper For?
Lined paper is for writing: the wider the lines, the bigger the letters, so beginners start on wide lines and move on to narrower ones. Pairs and groups of three lines guide the height of the letters, to learn to write neatly. Handwriting paper has a dashed middle line between two solid ones: small letters reach the dashed line, and capitals and tall letters the top one. Dotted and dashed lines are lighter, for handwriting and lettering practice. Grid paper keeps each digit in its column for math, and helps to draw graphs, plans and pixel art. Isometric dot paper has its dots in triangles, to draw cubes and 3D shapes. Music paper has staves of five lines for writing notes.
How Does the Paper Generator Work?
- Choose the paper. Pick lined, dotted, dashed, handwriting, grid, isometric dot or music staff paper.
- Choose the lines. Pick one of the eight line patterns, from 46 narrow lines to 12 wide ones, in pairs or in groups of three; large, medium or small letters for handwriting paper; small or large squares for grid paper; or small or large triangles for isometric dot paper.
- Print it. Press Print to print the page on A4 paper, or choose “Save as PDF” in the print window to keep it.
- Share it. Copy the address of the page: it always gives the same paper back.
Every sheet is a full A4 page, with the same lines as the papers of Zuzuzi: lines and squares are 5.76 mm apart, or two, three or four times that, and the five lines of a staff are 2.88 mm apart. Handwriting rows are 23, 17.3 or 11.5 mm high, and the sides of the isometric triangles 5.76 or 11.52 mm. Every paper keeps at least 14.4 mm free at the top and bottom of the page, so that the printer cuts no line. The page is made in your browser: nothing is sent to Zuzuzi, and it is free, with no sign-up.
