Frequently Asked Questions

What Can You Make With the Division Worksheet Generator?

Printable worksheets of long divisions by a one-digit number, with a two-digit, three-digit or four-digit number to divide, with or without a remainder: nine per page, or six with a four-digit number. Every worksheet also has its answer key, with every step of each division and its quotient.

Why Practice Long Division?

Long division splits a large number into equal parts, one digit at a time, from left to right. At each step, you find how many times the divisor goes into the current number, write that digit in the quotient, subtract, and bring down the next digit. What is left at the end is the remainder. Dividing by a one-digit number from 2 to 9 practices the times tables in reverse and subtraction, and the answer key shows every step: each product to subtract, each remainder, with the digit brought down next to it, and the quotient.
