What is a T-Rex?
Tyrannosaurus Rex, often called T-Rex, was one of the largest and most famous meat-eating dinosaurs to ever walk the Earth. It lived about 68 to 66 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period. T-Rex had a massive skull filled with sharp teeth, small but strong arms with two claws, and a powerful tail to help balance its giant body. It could grow up to 12 meters (around 40 feet) long and weigh more than 8 tons!
Its skin was likely scaly and tough, and it may have made deep growls or thunderous roars. Fossils have been found mostly in North America, where it likely hunted large plant-eating dinosaurs or scavenged for food. With one of the strongest bites of any land animal and keen senses, the T-Rex ruled its world as a top predator and remains one of the most exciting dinosaurs ever discovered.
