Frequently Asked Questions
What Can You Make With the Maze Generator?
Printable mazes in four shapes: rectangular mazes of 6 x 6 to 40 x 40 cells, circular mazes of 5 to 20 rings, triangular mazes of 6 to 30 rows, and hexagonal mazes of 4 to 24 cells on each side. Each shape comes in 8 levels, from Very Easy to Legendary, with one maze per page or four of the same shape and level. Every maze also has its answer key, with the path from the entrance to the goal.
What Is the Goal of a Maze?
The goal of a maze is to find the only path from the entrance to the end: from the top to the bottom of a rectangular or hexagonal maze, from the outside to the center of a circular maze, and from the left side to the empty triangle in the middle of a triangular maze. You trace the path with a pencil without crossing a wall, and turn back when you reach a dead end. Mazes train planning ahead, looking carefully, staying focused and controlling the pencil. Small mazes suit beginners, and the largest ones are a real challenge, for kids and adults alike.
How Does the Maze Generator Work?
- Choose the settings. Pick the shape of the maze (rectangular, circular, triangular or hexagonal), its level, from Very Easy to Legendary, and one or four mazes per page.
- Make a new maze. Press New: a new maze appears at once, with the same settings. Each one comes from a random number, its seed, kept in the address of the page.
- Print it. Press Print to print the page on A4 paper, or choose “Save as PDF” in the print window to keep it.
- Get the answer key. Tick Show the solution: the same maze appears with its solution in orange, ready to print as the answer key.
- Share it. Copy the address of the page: it always gives the same maze back.
Every maze is a perfect maze: a single path leads from the entrance to the goal, with no loop. The level sets its size: rectangular mazes go from 6 x 6 to 40 x 40 cells, circular mazes from 5 to 20 rings, triangular mazes from 6 to 30 rows, and hexagonal mazes from 4 to 24 cells on each side. The page is made in your browser: nothing is sent to Zuzuzi, and it is free, with no sign-up.
