What is Delaware?

Delaware is known as the First State because it was the first to ratify the U.S. Constitution. It has a rich colonial history, beautiful beaches, and a strong chemical and financial industry. The state flower is the peach blossom, and the state bird is the Delaware blue hen. Delaware has a population of over 1 million (as of July 2024).
