Count and Write: Shapes to 20

These worksheets move counting past ten. Each shelf carries between eight and twenty shapes, and the child writes the total in the box under it, next to the shape to count. Two-digit answers bring a new step: writing numbers such as 14 or 20.

Rows help to count in groups, heaps ask for a careful method, and the mixed sheets hide the right shapes among others.

Counting Past Ten

With more than ten shapes, counting in groups pays off: circle five shapes, then another five, and count on from ten. The rows make those groups easy to see.

Writing Two-Digit Numbers

Answers from 10 to 20 need two digits in the box. It is a chance to talk about tens and ones: 13 is one ten and three more.

When the Shapes Get Smaller

On a page with six exercises, or with twenty shapes on a shelf, the shapes are drawn smaller so that all of them fit. Every shape on one sheet keeps the same size.
