Free Printable Number Tracing Worksheets
Free printable number tracing worksheets that teach young children to write numbers. Each number has its own page with two sheets: the number to trace row after row, with its name in dashed letters, and a practice sheet of empty handwriting lines.
The pages go from 0 to 50 one number at a time, continue with the tens up to 90, then 100, 101, 1000 and 1001, and include a page with all the digits from 0 to 9; every page can be printed as a workbook of its two sheets.

About the number tracing worksheets
How the number tracing worksheets work
A child traces each dashed number with a pencil, then writes it alone on the empty part of the line. Every page has the same layout:
- The model: the number, large and dashed, at the top of the page, with its name below it in dashed capitals, such as SEVEN for 7.
- The rows: seven writing rows, with a dashed guide line through the middle of each, so every digit has the same height.
- Less help on each row: each row offers fewer dashed numbers than the one above it, so the child writes more of them alone.
Every number worksheet here is free to print, at home or in class.
Numbers covered
- 0 to 9: each digit on its own page, and one page that runs through all ten digits three times.
- 10 to 50: every number, to see how two digits build a number.
- The tens: 60, 70, 80 and 90, then 100.
- Beyond 100: 101, 1000 and 1001, to meet numbers of three and four digits.
Number terms explained
- Digit: one of the ten signs from 0 to 9 that write every number.
- Numeral: a number written with digits, like 45.
- Number word: a number written in letters, like forty-five.
- Tens and ones: in 45, the 4 stands for four tens and the 5 for five ones.
Printing the free number tracing worksheets
- On every page, the tracing worksheet comes first and the practice sheet second.
- Both sheets fit A4 paper in portrait and come as PDF, SVG and WebP files.
- A workbook joins the two sheets of a page in a single PDF.
- Start with the tracing worksheet; once the number comes easily, the practice sheet asks for it from memory.
