How to Start a 4x4 Kropki
Look at the black dots first. On this grid a black dot can only stand between 1 and 2 or between 2 and 4, so a cell touched by one holds 1, 2 or 4, never 3. Then check the cells without any dot around them: none of their neighbors can be one apart or double.
What Changes From Easy to Hard
Easy grids hand over six of the sixteen digits, so the dots mostly confirm what the rows and boxes already say. Medium grids give three. Hard grids keep only the digits the solution truly needs, which on a 4x4 is often none at all.
A Small Grid for Young Solvers
With four digits and four boxes, a 4x4 Kropki suits children who already enjoy mini sudoku. The dots also practice two number facts at once: which number comes next, and which one is twice as much.
