Free Printable Kropki Puzzles

Kropki, also called Kropki Sudoku or Dots Sudoku, adds dots to a sudoku grid. A white dot between two cells marks digits that follow each other, such as 6 and 7; a black dot marks a digit and its double, such as 4 and 8. Every dot is drawn, so two neighbors with no dot between them are neither.

The grids come in 4x4, 6x6 and 9x9, at Easy, Medium and Hard, one large grid to a sheet or four smaller ones. The Hard grids start with almost no digits: the dots alone carry the solution.

About the Kropki puzzles

How Kropki works

Fill the grid as in a sudoku, each row, column and box holding every digit once. The dots add a second kind of clue, set on the line between two neighboring cells.

  • White dot: neighbors in counting order, 8 next to 9 for instance.
  • Black dot: a digit and twice that digit, 3 next to 6 for instance.
  • 1 and 2: consecutive and double at once, so either color may join them.
  • No dot: the two digits are neither consecutive nor double.

Kropki grid sizes

  • 4x4: only the digits 1 to 4, a first taste of the rules.
  • 6x6: digits 1 to 6, each box spanning three columns and two rows.
  • 9x9: the classic grid, digits 1 to 9 in boxes of three by three.

Kropki difficulty levels

  • Easy: plenty of given digits, 6 on a 4x4, 14 on a 6x6 and 28 on a 9x9.
  • Medium: half as many, 3, 7 and 14.
  • Hard: only the digits logic cannot do without; the small grids often start empty, a 9x9 with one or two.

Printing the free Kropki sheets

  • Each size comes in two formats: a single grid on each sheet, or four grids on each sheet.
  • Sheets go from Easy to Hard within a page.
  • Sheets download for A4 as PDF, as SVG or as WebP, and each page also binds its sheets into one book PDF.
  • The Kropki generator draws fresh grids of any size and level, each with its answer key.
