Free Printable Slitherlink Puzzles

Slitherlink, which some puzzle books call Loop the Loop or Fences, is drawn on a lattice of dots. Link neighboring dots into a single closed loop, with no crossing and no branch, so that each number shows how many sides of its square the loop uses: 0 for none, 3 for all but one.

Grids come in 5x5, 7x7 and 10x10 at Easy, Medium and Hard, with the 5x5 and 7x7 sizes also printed four to a sheet. Each grid hides exactly one loop.

About the slitherlink puzzles

How slitherlink works

Some squares between the dots hold a number from 0 to 3. Draw short lines from dot to dot until they close into one loop.

  • One loop: a single closed path that never crosses or splits, so each dot has either two lines or none.
  • Numbers: a number counts how many sides of its square are on the loop; an empty square sets no limit.

Slitherlink grid sizes: from 5x5 to 10x10

  • 5x5: 36 dots, the size to learn the patterns.
  • 7x7: 64 dots, room for a winding loop.
  • 10x10: 121 dots, a loop that crosses the whole page.

Slitherlink difficulty levels

  • Easy: plenty of numbers, solved by counting sides and applying the two-lines rule at each dot.
  • Medium: fewer numbers, each read together with the dots at its corners.
  • Hard: some sides call for a test, a line or a cross assumed until a rule breaks.

Slitherlink terms explained

  • Side: the gap between two neighboring dots, part of the loop or not.
  • Cross: a small x marking a side that cannot be part of the loop.
  • Corner pattern: what a number in a corner forces, such as the two outer sides of a 3.

Printing the free slitherlink sheets

  • Each size has a page with one grid per sheet, and 5x5 and 7x7 also have one with four framed grids per sheet.
  • Sheets go from Easy, first, to Hard, last.
  • Every sheet is available in PDF, SVG or WebP, sized for A4, and the whole page as a book PDF.
  • The sheets show no loop; the Slitherlink generator makes new grids along with the loop that solves them.
