What is a Leopard?
Leopards are powerful wild cats known for their spotted coats and incredible strength. They live in many parts of Africa and Asia, from rainforests to dry savannas. Leopards are excellent climbers and often rest in trees, where they also hide their food to keep it safe from other animals.
A leopard usually lives about 12 to 17 years in the wild and can weigh between 66 to 198 pounds (30 to 90 kilograms). Their short fur is soft with dark spots called rosettes, which help them blend into the background. Leopards make low growls, snarls, or even purrs to communicate.
