What is a Coyote?
A coyote is a clever wild animal that belongs to the dog family. It lives mostly in North America and can be found in deserts, forests, grasslands, and even near cities. Coyotes are smaller than wolves but bigger than foxes, and they’re known for their long snouts, bushy tails, and big ears. Their fur is usually grayish-brown with hints of yellow, white, or black, and it feels thick and fluffy to protect them in all kinds of weather. Coyotes make a high-pitched yip or howl that echoes across the land, especially at night. They are great at surviving in different environments and love to eat almost anything, from small animals and insects to fruits and plants. A healthy wild coyote can live around 10 years and weigh between 7 to 20 kilograms depending on where it lives. They are curious and adaptable, and even though they look like playful puppies, they’re skilled hunters and smart explorers.
