An Early Easter and a Leap Day

Easter Sunday on March 31 was one of the earliest of the decade, with Good Friday on March 29 and Ash Wednesday on February 14. The leap day gave 2024 an extra Thursday, and the year counted 53 Mondays and 53 Tuesdays.

Holidays of 2024

No fixed-date federal holiday fell on a weekend in 2024, so none had to be observed on another day. Labor Day came on September 2, the presidential vote on Tuesday, November 5, and Thanksgiving on November 28.
